About Me

What matters most

My name is Cathline and I am an Educator-Activist, adjunct professor, speaker and writer of 12 years turned Administrative English Department Chair for grades 9-12 who is passionate about creating connections with students, ensuring nuanced cultural and racial representation, decolonizing the literature and fostering student voice. I am committed to social justice, equitable education and exploring the role of education in dismantling oppressive systems of power.

I strive everyday to do the work for racial literacy and equity, to stand in the gap, to build my capacity for compassion and resistance…for my students and for my sons. After years of ignoring my writing, I’ve decided to brave the wilds and share my musings, ramblings, observations and rants with whomever stumbles upon this place.

Thank you for visiting
